Joyful effort keeps our Center thriving as a home for the Dharma. We have no paid staff, so the help of volunteers is critical to keeping our programs going and creating a welcoming and thriving community.
Volunteering is a great way to share your talents or interests, have fun and help the Center bring benefit to others. No matter how small the task, no matter your age or skill level, your contribution of time is extremely meaningful and will help to bring classes, teachings and peace of mind to many people.
How much time will it take?
It can take as little or as much time as you have. Each and every hour of volunteering counts. Come and speak with us about your schedule and availability or fill out the volunteer form.
What kinds of volunteer opportunities are there?
Anyone can volunteer. You don’t need a special skill or experience. There are many volunteer positions that can be undertaken by anyone without training, or minimal training. If you do have a special skill, please let us know. Here are some ways you can serve:
- Greet members and welcome guests before classes
- Offer water bowls and daily altar care
- Work on marketing and media efforts
- Help prepare for classes and special events
- Develop fundraising strategies and capital campaign programs
- Provide technological support for classes and the Center website and database
“What else in the world is there to do that is more important than helping others? To help ourselves, to help others, what else is more important? There’s nothing more important than serving a Dharma center.”
~Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Kurukulla Center, October 2012
