Becoming Your Own Therapist

Our habits influence the way we think about ourselves and others, which can in turn affect how we relate to the world. In this series, we will familiarize ourselves with our minds while reflecting on the negative habits that cause problems in our relationships with others and ourselves. Through meditation and reasoning, we can work on our mind and develop positive habits to transform the way we think, speak and act. Become your own therapist so that you may continue to develop wisdom and compassion that will enable you to be of benefit to all sentient beings.

Inspired by the book titled “Becoming Your Own Therapist,” this course is an exploration of Buddhist topics that is accessible to beginners and applicable to all practitioners. A copy of the book can be obtained at Becoming Your Own Therapist | Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive.

“Each of us should know our own mind; you should become your own psychologist. This is definitely possible; every human being has the ability to understand their own mind. When you understand your own mind, control follows naturally.”

– Lama Yeshe
