Join Thubten Kunga Ling for a day of compassion, practice, and community as we visit the serene and life-rich environment of Jonathan Dickinson State Park. This special outing has two profound aims, guided by the Bodhisattva ideal:
Bringing Benefit to Local Wildlife (Animal Liberation Practice). Jonathan Dickinson State Park is home to a rich diversity of life (fish, birds, turtles, and many unseen beings). Following the inspiring example of our FPMT tradition, we will engage in Animal Liberation and Life Release practices on their behalf. Through the recitation of powerful mantras and prayers, we aim to plant seeds of purification, happiness, and eventual liberation in the minds of these beings, creating a meaningful connection to the Dharma.
Dedicating a World Peace Plaque. We will also symbolically dedicate our collective merit with one of our center’s World Peace Plaques. This act serves as a heartfelt prayer for peace, compassion, and wisdom to flourish throughout Florida, the nation, and the entire world.
Participants must meet at Thubten Kunga Ling at 9:00 am sharp to if they would like to carpool. If you would like to drive directly to the park, meet us at Wilson Creek Pavilion at 10:30 am. Please bring a packed vegetarian lunch or simple snack to enjoy picnic-style together in a spirit of non-harm.
Schedule for the Day
9:00 am – Meet at TKL for carpooling (those that would like to go directly can meet us at Wilson Creek Pavilion, 16450 SE Federal Hwy B, Hobe Sound, FL 33455)
10:30 am – 12:00 pm – Prayers & teachings
12:00 pm – 1:00pm – Picnic potluck lunch
1:00 pm – 3:30 pm – Walk on the trail and placement of the plaque
4:00 pm – Drive back to TKL or back home
What to Bring
Comfortable shoes (for walking along the riverbank)
Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)
Water bottle and your vegetarian lunch/snack
A foldable chair or mat for sitting during practice sessions
